Alan Korotkin’s Castlewood Farm Wins Absorbine® Stall Safe® Tack Room Award

Wellington, FL – Alan Korotkin’s Castlewood Farm, based in Wellington, won the Absorbine Stall Safe® Tack Room Award during the tenth week of the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival, thanks to a beautiful gazebo surrounded by mature ficus trees that gives riders a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of the show. The Stall Safe Award is awarded weekly to a stabling area that has tapped into its equestrian interior decorating abilities and provides a safe, functional, yet beautiful, setting for horse and rider.

As a fan and user of Absorbine products, Korotkin was thrilled to win the award and the basket filled with Absorbine supplies. "We use a lot of Absorbine products every day, at the show and at home," Korotkin said.

Castlewood Farm caught the eye of the Stall Safe spotters, who were impressed with the sturdy wood gazebo and deck built in front of the stall area. "We used to have a tent but it kept blowing over due to the weather, so we built the gazebo," Korotkin said.

Inside Castlewood’s cabin-like gazebo, neat rows of personalized tack boxes line the wall and form a lounge area that provides a functional seating area where riders can relax between classes while still having access to everything they need. The stabling area is also surrounded by mature 8-foot ficus trees that provide horses and riders a chance to escape into the tropical environment before gearing up for their next ride.

Castlewood Farm, founded in 1990 by Korotkin, is a show barn catering to the serious equestrian, from beginner to Grand Prix. Korotkin’s riders have multiple championships to their name, including over 100 Medal, Maclay and USET equitation qualifiers. Korotkin also excels in the Grand Prix ring and has an active horse sales business.

Despite the many awards to Castlewood’s credit, Korotkin was pleased to win the Stall Safe award, which included a supply of the highly sought-after Stall Safe that is shown to be effective in guarding against Equine Herpes Virus Type 1 and Equine Influenza A Virus. Riders, trainers and grooms throughout the show grounds have discovered Stall Safe is an easy-to-use alternative to commonly used chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, iodine, and pine cleaners. In addition to its many benefits, Stall Safe comes with a hand pump that makes disinfecting stall walls a quick and easy process.
