Marketing Assistant

The W.F. Young team is seeking a Marketing Assistant who can jump in and help make things happen for some of the best animal health brands in the world. This role will support the marketing team with duties such as coordinating packaging and merchandising displays, to creating sales and marketing materials, and helping with events and sponsorship activities.  This role reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing.

The ideal candidate must have an interest in helping animals, be happy wearing multiple hats, be a team-player, and have strong organization skills, the ability to figure things out, positive energy, a “how can I help” mindset, and a good sense of humor.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development and implementation of marketing initiatives to expand awareness, grow sales, and build loyalty for the company’s brands
  • Coordinates the design and proofing process for product labeling, packaging, and merchandising displays
  • Coordinates production of product photography including mock-ups and final photography for products, including organizing in-studio photo shoots or using creative agency partners
  • Coordinates the production of marketing and sales materials (catalogs, sell sheets, product training decks, marketing presentations, trade show materials, coupons)
  • Updates product photography and product descriptions to ensure that correct product images (with most current packaging and labeling) and descriptions are maintained in all communications and sales channels
  • Helps coordinate marketing projects between the team and agency partners (scheduling meetings, taking/sending minutes, creating task lists, posting files for review, sending edits to agency partners, finalizing art, coordinating production)
  • Coordinates consumer tradeshows (reserving space, ordering materials, designing the booth, shipping materials, coordinating staff coverage)
  • Supports public relations activities including press inquiries, donation requests, and sponsorship activities
  • Helps organize marketing assets (images, videos, POP, advertisements) via Salsify
  • Assists with photo and video shoots (shipping materials, shot lists, location support)
  • Manages the scheduling of key marketing team meetings (sending invites, reserving space, sending agendas, planning materials)


Key  Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a marketing environment
  • Experience working in a consumer-packaged goods environment is a plus
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office; including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus; or a willingness to learn
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proof-reading capabilities
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong management and problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Graphic Design preferred or equivalent marketing experience
