Supply Chain Planner

The W.F. Young team is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to support operations processes to help achieve objectives, policies, programs, and goals as set by and for the company.  They will be responsible for balancing supply against demand via MRP planning, purchasing of finished goods and needed raw materials and components.   The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is highly analytical, with the ability to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.    

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Issue and maintain Purchase orders to contract manufacturers in support of supporting the forecast while keeping inventory plan in balance.
  • Maintain all planning ERP settings (i.e. MOQ, Lead Time Safety Stocks for all stock items) 
  • Act as the primary contact with contract manufacturers to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods; escalate issues to Sourcing Manager and VP operations when appropriate.
  • Review Open order communication; Monitor the update of purchase orders with quantity and delivery changes and provide direction to data entry Operations & Quality Product Specialist
  • Prepare, report, and facilitate monthly Supply SOP meetings with appropriate sales and marketing personnel.
  • Review open purchase orders at the end of each month, close PO’s as needed (data entry done by the Ops & Quality Product Specialist), report to accounting on purchases that should be accrued into the period
  • Publish weekly backorder Report, follow up with manufacturers on the related production schedule.
  • Support raw material, component, finished goods costs and monthly inventory target projections for annual budgeting purposes.
  • Create, evaluate, and report on negative variances on the monthly Purchase Price Variance (PPV) report, Purchases by Vendors and Inventory history.
  • Create and Maintain supplier report card for On Time and In Full (OTIF) performance.
  • Report any price changes to Sourcing manager and VP, Operations and change ERP pricing as directed.
  • Help resolve CMO parts shortages by contacting other CMO to buy from one and selling to the other. 
  • Notify Quality and Sales departments on inventory write off based on their projects to use up inventories (raws and components) if possible, rather than obsoleting large number of inventories.
  • Work with IT to import new COG at the beginning of each year, keep item/vendor table updated with new costs, new items, new vendors, etc.
  • Work with Ops & Quality Product Specialist to make sure that product receipts are entered into software when confirmed by third party warehouse and issued out with correct accounts when they ship out
  • Provide back up to Inventory& Logistics Manager in monitoring Day-to-day handling of all aspects of raw material and inventory control, i.e. receipts, transfers, audits, year-end & mid-year inventories. Utilizing a first-time right policy
  • Work closely with Sourcing Manager on related sourcing projects (Innovation, new supplier, and cost reduction projects)
  • Coordinate activities regarding component adjustments, Inventory transfers, needs and changes as well as transportation requests with Inventory and Logistics Manager.
  • Verify sales invoices against the relevant Purchase Order and receipt for accuracy.  Document 3-way verification of purchase order, receipt, and invoice. 

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field required.
  • Proficient in Supply Chain process, concepts, and best practices
  • Capable of conducting Root cause analysis and problem solving. 
  • Project management skills required.
  • Ability to interact and effectively communicate with employees, customers, and contractors at all levels of the business both written and verbally.
  • Ability to work and communicate within a Microsoft environment.
  • Ability to work within Databases, ERP, and Quality Management systems.

eCommerce Account Manager

The W.F. Young team is seeking an eCommerce Account Manager who will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth and success of ecommerce in accounts and be a driving force in achieving sales growth, profitability, and awareness for the company’s portfolio of brands. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven self-starter who is goal oriented, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possess a strong team spirit and collaborative style, a sense of personal and business integrity and the willingness to embrace the core values of W.F. Young.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee current account responsibilities with existing accounts, such as Chewy.com, BigDWebb.com, 99 Pet Stores, and prospective accounts such as TractorSupply.com, ensuring exceptional service delivery and fostering strong relationships to drive client satisfaction and retention.
  • Develops sales strategies and plans for assigned accounts and helps drive ecommerce growth plans with other W.F. Young Sales Managers
  • Presents and gains placement of new products and manages optimal product assortment and site merchandising.
  • Develops item forecasts and sales budgets and manages the P&L for assigned accounts.
  • Collects and analyzes performance data and provides regular reports on account status, growth opportunities, and areas of concern.
  • Plans and executes comprehensive marketing and promotional plans with assigned accounts and regularly reports on performance and results.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for assigned accounts and will attend key functions and meetings in-person as required.
  • Collaborates with marketing team to align account goals and marketing plans with product launches, brand plans, media calendars, and promotional schedules.
  • Assist in the development of marketing assets to support the needs of ecommerce partners (product detail pages, product titles, product images/videos) and search engine marketing strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all account management and channel personnel to ensure that sales and marketing goals are achieved.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in ecommerce. Recommend innovative solutions to enhance our online presence and sales performance.
  • Regularly check accounts to ensure they adhere to all selling and promotional policies and immediately address any issues proactively to avoid account suspension.
  • Maintain close contact with internal operations and customer service to ensure promptness of order processing and delivery of product.
  • Participate in the product innovation process.
  • Attend relevant industry events and trade shows as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, sales, or similar field with a minimum of 4 years’ eCommerce sales and marketing experience, preferably in the animal health industry. 
  • Associate degree in business administration, marketing, sales, or similar field with a minimum of 5 years’ eCommerce sales and marketing experience, preferably in the animal health industry. 
  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years’ eCommerce sales and marketing experience, preferably in the animal health industry. 
  • Proven track record in developing a dynamic eCommerce sales process and possess the expertise to develop marketing plans designed to facilitate growth.
  • Thorough understanding of website and digital marketing metrics, data analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Results-driven self-starter who is goal oriented and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong relationship and account management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Embraces working with a team and has the ability to positively influence others at all levels of an organization.
  • Pro-active problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying and addressing challenges swiftly and efficiently to drive optimal outcomes.
  • Must be a brand advocate, demonstrating a deep understanding of our brand values and effectively communicating them to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and other Office programs
  • Aptitude for working with Internet tools (i.e. web-based reports, databases, and various multimedia technologies).
  • Ability to work remotely with little supervision.
  • The position requires an individual with the willingness to work a flexible schedule and the ability to travel as required.
